Christian Hirte was born in Bad Salzungen on 23 May 1976. He is married and has two daughters and one son.
After his Abitur in 1994, he studied law at the University of Fulda with a scholarship awarded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and has been a lawyer since 2004.
His political career began in 1993, when he joined the Junge Union (JU) in his home town and spearheaded the JU Wartburgkreis for six years until 2005. Since 2008 he is member of the German Parliament and since 2014 a member of the European Union Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag Budget Committee.
