The 2017 flagship conference of the Indo-German Young Leaders Forum took place from 11th to 24th May in Berlin. 50 selected 'Young Leaders' from both countries faced a host of high-profile guest speakers, panel discussions, and workshops on topics that address the most pressing issues of today, and that help to successfully guide bilateral relations in the years to come.
The IGYLF Flagship Conference 2017 consisted of visits to the Berlin Chambre of Crafts, the premises of Roedl & Partner, the Rotes Rathaus, and speeches and discussions at the conference halls of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Spielfeld Innovation Hub, and Audi City.
We were delighted to have prestigious guest speakers with us such as Ms. Sawsan Chebli (state secretary in the Mayor’s Office), Mr. Frank Priess (Deputy Head of the Department of European and International Cooperation), Prof. Rajeev Gowda (a member of the upper house of the Indian parliament), Mr. Murali Nair (Senior Project Manager, Germany and Asia, Bertelsmann Stiftung), Mr. Dirk Augustin (Head of South-Asia Division, AA), Dr. Habil. Christian Wagner (Senior Fellow, German Institute for International and Security Affairs) and Mr. Ashok Aram (the CEO of Europe, Middle-East & Africa, Deutsche Bank), Shradha Sharma (Founder and CEO of YourStory) and Michael Perschke ( Head of Audi's industry 4.0 Programm, and former head of Audi India) and H.E. Ambassador of India to Germany Mrs. Mukta Dutta Tomar.
The three-day event pulled together the best minds from a diverse array of industry verticals, think tanks, academia, and innovation sectors. The first conference clearly showcased Germany’s capability set in areas of India’s interest. The Berlin conference of the IGYLF ended with much enthusiasm, and fanfare and has provided the right structural stepping stone to launch the IGYLF onto the Indian landscape.
