The 2023 Indo-German Young Leaders Forum conference, held from November 2nd to 5th at the BOSCH Learning Campus in Bengaluru, brought together 50 selected young leaders from both countries. Through panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions, participants engaged with prominent speakers on pressing contemporary issues. The conference opened with remarks from esteemed figures including Honorable Deputy Consul General Mr Friedrich Birgelen of the German Consulate Bengaluru, Mr Sumit Sharma, Regional Director of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce & Indo-German Training Center, and Dr Maximilian Von Laer & Dr Vishnu Ramdeo, representatives of the Indo-German Young Leaders Forum.
Highlights included visits to the Karnataka State Legislature, a dinner hosted by the Deputy Consul General, and social events hosted by Young Indians at Royal Orchid, Bengaluru. Discussions delved into topics such as Tech Innovations, Private Sector's Role in Addressing Climate Change, India’s G20 Presidency, Urban Mobility, Net Zero and Energy Policy Solutions, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.
Eminent speakers included Sri Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and former Member of the Parliament of India, Dr Sanjeev Chopra, former Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mr Dharnidharan Selvam, spokesperson of DMK & IGYLF alumnus, Mr Siddharth Sinha, ex Advisor to Amitabh Kant (G20 Sherpa) & IGYLF alumnus, Ms Lena Robra, Head of Academic Engagement at Swissnex in India, Consulate General of Switzerland, Ms Ulka Kelkar, Executive Director of WRI India, Guruprasad Mudlapur, CEO of Bosch, and many others, offering insights and perspectives on various subjects.
